Blowing your own trumpet is not a phrase Teppa Swapan is familiar with, as she would rather let her hard work speak for itself. Hailing from a family of three in Mahabubnagar District, Telangana state, all she wanted was an opportunity to prove herself. She got that chance while finishing her intermediate studies when she learned about 100 Days Later Initiative of 100 Days Later Foundation at her college.

The functionary of the foundation Ms. Pratinya interacted with the college students and shared her vision of 100 Days Later Foundation and the objective of the 100 Days Later initiative. The motivation gained with the interaction and armed with the inner strength and confidence that women are not second to anyone in any field, she immediately enrolled in the Electronics and Soldering Course.

The fact that this field of study and career is hardly ever pursued by girls was not a deterrent for her or her highly supportive family. As she underwent the training, her personality began to shine with even more self-confidence. She overcame her fear of public speaking through the soft skills and communication training, which had been her Achilles’ heel. She tamed that splendidly while also excelling in the technical training required for her job. Soon, she was placed at Schneider Electric in Gagillapur, Hyderabad, as an Assembling Operator.

Swapna’s satisfaction levels are high as this is a job of her own choosing in a field that interests put to light through 100 Days Later Initiative and provides her with financial security. Now, she has set her eyes on climbing the industry ladder with her hard work and tenacious nature, with her family supporting her 100% through thick and thin.
