Katravath Sumithra a young woman from Amisthapur in Mahabubnagar District in Telangana, embodies the spirit of determination and hard work. Growing up in a modest family of three, Sumithra always dreamed of proving her capabilities and making a name for herself.
She found her opportunity during her intermediate studies when she had come across with the 100 Days Later Initiate her college. This encounter would become a turning point in her life.
Motivated by an unshakable belief in gender equality and the support of her progressive family, Sumithra did not hesitate to enrol in the Electronics and Soldering Course offered by the 100 Days Later Foundation.
This field, often dominated by men, presented a unique challenge that she was eager to conquer. Her family’s encouragement and her own resolve fuelled her journey into this unconventional career path. During the training, Sumithra’s skills and confidence blossomed. The comprehensive curriculum not only covered technical expertise in electronics and soldering but also included vital soft skills and communication training. Public speaking had always been her Achilles’ heel, but with dedicated practice and support, she overcame this fear.
As her self-confidence grew, so did her proficiency in technical tasks. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she secured a position as an Electronics Productor at Zen Technologies in Tukkuguda, Hyderabad. This role was more than just a job for Sumithra; it was a testament to her perseverance and a source of immense satisfaction. She had chosen a field that not only piqued her interest but also provided her with financial independence and stability.
Sumithra and her family owe to both the foundations and Ms. Pratinya for such an impactful program to empower the unemployed girls.
