Background:

My name is Rekulapati Sirisha, and I am from Amisthapur, Mahabubnagar. I was born in a large family; my father has a burden of taking care of three girls. The financial situation in the family is very bad and making both ends meet a luxury to us. The necessities of life like decent clothes, nutritious food and basic education and minimal facilities far from our site. To reduce the burden, my parents preferred early marriages to the girls in the family. This is very common in our community to get rid of a girl by early marriages at very young age.

My parents and relatives arranged my marriage very young age and I stepped into a new house of more miseries and troubles. Nothing seems to be good in my life and even the marriage is more of misfortune.

Not even completing my 1st of year marriage anniversary my husband unexpectedly passed away, and living without husband in in-laws house is horribly hell and the words I hear from them is not bearable.

I don’t have a choice, excepting returning to live with my parents. I fell into depression and felt unsupported, almost giving up on life. The financial situation in my parents’ house is terribly bad and I in an urgent and critical situation to do a job. My education qualifications will not be giving me any decent job, and hence I ended up doing daily wage work, but it didn’t give me any satisfaction.

One day, the team from 100 Days Later Foundation visited our home and announced in the Gram Panchayat office they are gathering unemployed youth. The representatives requested me also to attend the meeting, with a ray of hope I attended the meeting, where they had explained about their 100 Days Later Initiative and the 100 Days of job-oriented training in three skills.

My neighbour took me to the 100 Days Later Foundation skill centre in ITI Mettugadda, Mahabubnagar. After the interaction with counsellors, I was so happy that I literally cried and felt a deep connection. They guided me to enrol for Electronics and Soldering course, they have given me enough faith and confidence. I learned about Ms. Pratinya and her vision about making the Women Empowered with jobs through 100 Days Later Initiative and their various skill development programs., I registered for the Electronics and Soldering course.

The training provided by the 100 Days Later Foundation was exceptional. Over the course of the program, I acquired valuable technical skills such as soldering, understanding colour coding, and working with capacitors, transformers, and other important components. During the training we had visited various industries nearby and learned about the working conditions and the facilities offered in the companies. This interactions with Ms. Pratinya and the companies’ representatives is very encouraging.

Upon completing the 100 days training program, the companies started visiting our skill centre for hiring the trainees, all the trainees are happy to get the jobs, I was thrilled to secure a job at a renowned company in Hyderabad with a starting salary of Rs. 15,000. When I got selected, my dreams come true. I could hardly believe myself, as I used to earn barely Rs. 6,000 per month, but now I am earning Rs. 15,000. This 100 Days Later Initiative mad miracle in my life after 100 Days, we all thankful to Ms. Pratinya and her team. The 100 Days Later Initiatives has been a true game-changer for me.
