My name is Pitla Srilatha, and I hail from Amisthapur in Mahabubnagar. My family consists of three members. My father is a farmer. For my marriage, my father sold all our land, and since then, he has been working as a daily wage labourer. When work is not available, my parents sometimes go to bed hungry.
It was a great shame for me that all the land was sold for my marriage. I am determined to do something to support my family. In this critical situation, after many days of requesting, we finally went to the 100 Days Foundation Training Centre in Mettugadda, Mahabubnagar. One of my friends had benefited from this training program. There were times when I desperately wished to alleviate my parents’ hardships, but I was unable to contribute effectively. However, a ray of hope emerged when I was blessed with an opportunity through the women empowerment training programme offered Ms. Pratinya by the “100 Days Later” initiative, supported by the Cyient Foundation.
Reflecting on the past, I remember experiencing some of the darkest days of my life, even when well-wishers were offering advice on job opportunities. Despite my efforts, I failed to secure employment due to a lack of skills. At the end of the training, we underwent interviews and performed well. I am really happy at this moment.
The Women Empowerment Training Programme has been a beacon of light, illuminating my path and providing me with the skills I needed. Today, I am proud to be one of the beneficiaries of the 100 Days Foundation, and I am grateful for the support that has empowered me to contribute to my family’s well-being and secure a brighter future.
