My name is Gondel Navaneetha, and I come from a rural village called Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar District. My village is very famous for cotton produce and milk supply. The main source of income village is forming and dairy cattle. My father is a small farmer and works in forms for earning. My family consists of nine members, including my father. Due to the large size of our family, it is difficult for us to afford for any luxury and even meeting bare minimum facilities is far from reach. We lead with difficulties and often do not experience happiness.
We live in below poverty line and leading a simple life without many hopes or happiness. As the days goes by our financial problems continue to heap up , living the struggles we face have made me strong. There is pressure from my family to abandon my education and get married, I remained determined to continue my studies. I completed my education in government high schools, with all the difficulties I had completed my intermediate education from Government Junior College.
My father sold all the land for my sisters’ marriages, the family situation is further worsen after performing marriages, I am living with my parents and need to step up to support my father in earning for family. As my education is not given enough skills and lack of communication skills has become major hurdle for getting a decent job in nearby town Mahabubnagar.
I had started working as a daily wage labourer to support my family. Due to my poor skills, I could not get a proper job, despite of our best efforts and hard work, our family has always struggled for sustainable living. I have always wanted to give better living conditions to my parents and help my parents during these difficult times, but I felt helpless due to my lack of skills and opportunities.
For my fortune, I heard that, a team from 100 Days Later foundation conducting mobilization camp and gathering all the unemployed less skilled girls. I had attended the camp and learned about the Women Empowerment Training Program offered through the 100 Days Later initiative by the 100 Days Later Foundation, with support from the Cyient Foundation. I was happy to know that, the trainings are free and no single rupee need to be paid for registration. The foundation staff explained that every girl will get a job after successful completion of the training.
With my parents permission and support, I had visited the skill centre and spoke to Trainers and counselling team. The counsellor assessed my interest and based my education qualifications, I was suggested to enrol for General Duty Assistant (GDA) course. I had immediately enrolled the course for General Duty Assistant and it was really apt for me, so I decided to join.
The course curriculum covers crucial aspects of day-to-day healthcare responsibilities, such as patient bathing, grooming, meal support, infection control, and accurate measurement of vital signs. During the training period we are fortunate to meet the sponsor of the training Ms. Pratinya and had an interaction. The vision of the initiative is immensely motivated me and my fellow trainees. I had successfully completed 100 Days of Training and started attending interviews. We all were well prepared to take up the interviews and healthcare company hired me a General Duty Assistant with good package.
Everything in my life has changed, now I am empowered women. I see the transformation of me before and after joining this program, I had gone through real tough days in my life and now I am dreaming for big.
I extend my sincere gratitude to Ms. Pratinya and her vision for the unemployed girls like me in the society. The program is real game changer in my life, this program has really helped me a lot and now I am taking care of my family and providing all the necessities with my money. I every day see the joy in fathers eyes while going to work. Our entire family owe to the foundations behind our happiness.
