My name is Mandla Manjula, and I am from Chakalapally Wanaparthy. My family consists of four members: my mother, father, grandmother, and one brother. I am the only girl in my family and was brought up in a poor background due to our economic situation. My father, who is now 53 years old, works as a rubber-tapping labourer and was the sole earner in our family.
My father financial condition and need for my hand to support my family is not allowed for continued quality education. Despite these challenges, I completed my Plus Two in the humanities stream but had to discontinue my studies due to creep up of financial problems.
My strong intent to support my father, and this desire always in me and waiting for an opportunity. One day I had received a brochure about 100 Days Later Initiative of 100 Days Later Foundation and their camp. I had an opportunity to interact with foundation representatives in the mobilization camp conducted in my village, and a friend of mine encouraged me to attend the training program sponsored by Ms. Pratinya through the 100 Days Later Foundation as it is exclusively for girls.
This changed my life significantly, the decision I made that day to take part of the training given me completely a new life. Initially, I couldn’t believe it, but the results amazed me. Through the course, especially the soft skills classes, I overcame my weaknesses.
I had learned skills related Electronic Soldering; the trainers helped me gain required practical knowledge through Lab sessions. Upon completing the 100 Days of course, many electronics manufacturing companies are visiting our skill centre for placement. I got an appointed with Zen Technologies, working for the Indian Army. There, we did soldering at the Industrial Park in Tukkuguda, Hyderabad. This job provided me with wonderful exposure and a comfortable work platform. I know that with this work experience, I can pursue better career opportunities in a similar field despite my limited qualifications. I sincerely express my gratitude to Ms. Pratinya for providing this wonderful opportunity to women in need. Now, I am supporting my family and leading a happy life.
