Background:

My name is Bakaram Varshini, and I hail from Rakonda, Nagar Kurnool an isolated village. My family, comprising seven members, has always grappled with severe financial challenges. My father, a hardworking farmer, put in countless number of hours to provide us food and basic needs, but his earnings were barely sufficient to meet our basic needs. The financial problems continue to persist, our entire family in stress to find out some earning sources, the village is not having any earning opportunities excepting daily labour in farms.

Despite my desire to pursue further studies after completing my higher secondary education, our dire economic situation forced me to abandon my dreams. Determined to support my family, I started looking for employment. However, I faced numerous rejections due to my limited qualifications, which added to my frustration and despair. Me and my family are in desperation and looking for an opportunity that changes our life’s. In the midst of this struggle, a ray of hope had emerged when a mobilization camp was organized in our village.  It was there that I learned about the 100 Days Later Initiative of 100 Days Later Foundation and their skill development programmes. The mobilization team has asserted me and my family about the job assurance after 100 Days of successful training, that is really a blessing that has come to us in the form of Ms. Pratinya. Without hesitation and support from my family, I had visited the skill centre in Mahabubnagar and had a very good interaction with the counsellors in guiding me to select the course.

I had registered for the Electronics and Soldering course, hoping it would open new doors for me. The training, provided by the 100 Days Later Foundation, was nothing short of transformative. I acquired valuable technical skills, such as soldering, understanding colour coding, and working with capacitors, transformers, and other crucial components. Beyond the technical knowledge, the training also boosted my self-confidence immensely. The motivational classes were particularly impactful, helping me realize my potential and capabilities. After successfully completing the 100-day training programme, companies started coming to our skill centre for job placements. I was able to secure a job at a well-known company in Hyderabad, earning a starting salary of Rs. 15,000/-. This opportunity marked a significant turning point in my life. Me and family is always thankful to Ms. Pratinya and the foundations, not only for providing me a stable income but also given me courage to not stop until you are proud.
