Background:

My name is Patharached Mamatha, and I come from Marikal in Mahabubnagar, a remote border area with limited opportunities due to its small geographical size. My father is a farmer but is no longer able to work due to age constraints, and my mother is a daily wage worker. Unfortunately, we live in poverty, leading a simple life without much hope or joy.

Despite significant challenges, I remained determined to continue my studies. I completed my education in government high schools, which affected my communication skills. Despite my parents’ hard work, our family has always struggled to get by. I have always wanted to help my parents during these difficult times, but I felt helpless due to my lack of skills and opportunities.

To help my family, I have been looking for job opportunities to change my life. After completing my intermediate education, I started working as a daily wage labourer to support my family. Due to my poor skills, I could not secure a proper job, and job opportunities were scarce. However, my dreams are different, one day, a mobilization camp was conducted in my village, announcing a program and calling all the unemployed to gather at Kasheer to register. There I had learned about 100 Days Later Initiative and how they are going to empower girls like me through their training and placement. The foundations team had promised free training is offered with a support of food and transportation, which is really blessing for me in the difficult times. As guided by counsellors, I had immediately enrolled in the General Duty Assistant course, which seemed perfect for me. The course curriculum covers crucial aspects of day-to-day healthcare responsibilities, such as patient bathing, grooming, meal support, infection control, and accurate measurement of vital signs. I couldn’t believe they would actually provide a job, but they did. Everything has changed when a young girl Ms. Pratinya thought for Empowering Women in 100 Days of industry ready skills training offered through the 100 Days Later initiative by the 100 Days Later Foundation, with support from the Cyient Foundation. Before joining this program, I went through very dark days. I extend my gratitude to Ms. Pratinya and her family for facilitating this training program. This opportunity has transformed my life and given me hope for a better future. Details of the training and the job I have gained: Course Details:
