Background:

My name is Achhampeta Roja, and I come from Ghanpur in Mahabubnagar. My village is very famous for milk and our village income source for villagers is forming and  dairy cattle.  My father is an agriculture and does small forming in the village. My family consists of four members. Only earning source of income is my father work. Due to our financial situation, we often do not experience happiness.

We live in below poverty level and sacrifice most of our basic needs and leading a simple life without many hopes or happiness.

The struggles we face have made me strong, despite significant pressure from my family to abandon my education and get married, I remained determined to continue my studies. I completed my education in government high schools, and managed to complete my intermediate. The education is poor in the village in the college, which impacted my communication skills and English reading and writing skills.

My financial situation worsening day by day and to assist the family in some means of earning. After completing my intermediate education, I have been looking for opportunities to change my life, due to my poor skills, I could not get a proper job, and job opportunities were scarce. No choice left for me to be choosing a daily wage work, I started working as a daily wage labourer to support my family. Despite of me and my parents’ hard work, our family has always struggled to get a stable income and secured living. I have always wanted to help my parents during these difficult times, but I felt helpless due to my lack of skills and opportunities.

One fine day, a mobilization camp was conducted in my village, few representatives from 100 Days Later Foundation gathered jobless and unskilled women in village and explained about 100 Days Later Initiative and the very purpose of Ms. Pratinya for coming up with such an innovative thought of making women empowered by skilling and employment. All the villagers were so happy as I was, and started sending their semiskilled or unskilled unemployed girls to attend the training program. The trainings are free of cost, a certificate along with job offer was guaranteed by the  foundation people.

I had visited the training centre in ITI Mettugadda, Mahabubnagar and interacted with counsellors and training faculty. The training faculty are friendly and they have explained about the training program and placement. I had immediately enrolled in the General Duty Assistant (GDA)course, I always have a caring nature towards elderly and sick, GDA course seemed to be perfect for me. The course curriculum covers crucial aspects of day-to-day healthcare responsibilities, such as patient bathing, grooming, meal support, infection control, and accurate measurement of vital signs.

Along with the GDA concepts, we were taught necessary English speaking, reading, and writing skills. Ms. Pratinya had visited our centre and taught us on interview preparation and resume building. We had very good trainers helped us in learn English and practise speaking.  After successful completion of 100 Days of Training, we received a certificate and started seeing industries visiting centre for hiring. I got a job in a reputed Healthcare firm and started earning a stable income.

Everything thing in my life is changed, now I am earning every month and supporting my family financial needs. The transformation in my life would not have been possible from training Program offered through the 100 Days Later initiative by the 100 Days Later Foundation, with support from the Cyient Foundation.

I rewind and see how my fortune turned from darkest of days to brightest of the days in my life. I extend my sincere gratitude to Ms. Pratinya and her family for facilitating this training program.
