My name is Manga Shirisha, and I am from Mahabubnagar. I used to help my mother with agriculture farming and cattle rearing to meet the basic needs of our family. I wanted to support my mother financially, as she was the sole earner in our family. As time passed, my mother left us, and all the responsibilities fell on me. I started working, but whatever I earned was not enough to fulfil our basic needs. I wanted to pursue a course in the nursing sector because I had an interest in it and wanted to become a nurse to serve people in need. To get the nursing course completed I did not have enough money to enrol for course and pay for training institute. One day, the representatives of 100 Days Later Foundation and Cyient Foundation had conducted beneficiaries’ mobilization activity in our village at Grampanchayath Office. Due to my good fortune, I was present during the drive and learned about the 100 Days Later Initiative.
With the help of my neighbours in the village, I had visited the training institute located in ITI Mettugadda, Mahabubnagar Dist, Telangana. During my visit to the training centre, I was impressed with the training facilities, practical labs, equipment, and the teaching staff. It was conveyed to me that this training was free, and I would also receive placement assistance after completing the course.
The counsellors are very supportive and guided me well, the interactions with them helped me to assess my latent skills. I had enrolled for General Duty Assistant course and the course lasted for 100 days, during which I learned patient care and handling skills. I was hardworking and keen to learn, always completing my tasks and practical on time. I was regular and punctual to classes and we all the trainees used to eagerly wait for the interactions with Ms. Pratinya and her family. I had successfully completed the 100 Days of Training and visited few hospitals and healthcare services industries.
The foundations had conducted a job fair after soon completing of the training, I am through with the interview, I was successfully placed in the healthcare sector and am now supporting my family. My father is proud of me due to my ability to face all difficulties with colours of success. I now earn 16,000 rupees per month. Me and my family is very thankful to Ms. Pratinya and her family, who stood by our side and supported us to reach this stage in life. Now, I can handle any situation in life.
