Rising above adversity

Background:

The 100 Days Later Foundation & Cyient Foundation Training Centre made me proud and helped me to introduce myself. I am Naini Ashwini, living in Venkatapur, Mahabubnagar. I have already lived through an era—an era of pain, patience, perseverance, lessons, and hope. Before I had even turned 18, tragedy struck my family in 2015 in the form of my father’s sudden medical issues. Finding my mother and younger brother stuck in a financial crunch, I decided to bear the responsibility of being the family breadwinner and moved to Mahabubnagar.

Working as a daily wage labourer packing MCB boxes, I often wondered about my future and how to establish a career amidst the troublesome tornado my family was facing. During a short holiday at home, I met the 100 Days Later Foundation mobilization team and received on-the-spot counselling and learned about 100 Days Later Initiative and 100 Days of job-oriented training giving a certain job, which provided deeper clarity about the program.

I soon enrolled in the Electronics and Soldering course. While I was thriving in the course, my family continued to face typical troubles due to the financial crisis. My determination grew stronger after few interactions with Ms. Pratinya and the words encourage during her visits to the skill centre.

I was renewed with a determination to excel in the course and become a solid financial support for my family. The self-discovery module offered by 100 Days Later Initiative, I say, is the one that completely changed my thinking and approach to life. Now I am not only aware of my inner strength but also know how to draw from it for any situation life throws at me and my family.

After successful completion of the 100 Days of training as promised by the foundations, the industries started coming to our skill centre for the job fairs organized by the foundations. I had got a job opportunity as an Assembling Operator at Gagillapur, Hyderabad today, I am the apple of my family’s eye and a determined soul marching ahead for a better future. Me and family owe big time to Ms. Pratinya and the foundations for giving a decent living.
