Background:

My name is Vundhyala Chaitanya, and I hail from Bandameedipally in Mahabubnagar District. My family consists of four members. Coming from an economically poor background, I suffered a lot during my childhood. My father is a coolie worker and the only earning member of the family, striving to make ends meet. There is no stable income for my father to provide us quality education and the need for every one in the home to contribute for some kind of earning.

Due to the financial problem, I have managed study until Intermediate ( plus two) and not able pursue higher studies. The urgency for supporting family financially forced me to take up domestic jobs. I badly wanted to continue my studies, but my situation held me back. The debts caused more financial stress and entire family were under tremendous pressure to make some money. Same time, I started looking for a stable job to support my family, but I was unable to find any job with my qualifications. Then, through a mobilization camp conducted in my village, I learned about the 100 Days Later Initiatives of 100 Days Later Foundation. There are few girls from our village were enrolling for the trainings then I had registered for their skill development training programme and joined the Electronics and Soldering course after careful evaluation of counsellors.

The training I received from 100 Days Later Foundation changed my life. My confidence level increased, and the motivational classes helped me explore myself. I experienced growth both as a person and as a social being. After successfully completing the 100-day training, I got placed at Zen Technologies, Industrial Park, Hyderabad, with a starting salary of Rs. 15,000/-.

I have now successfully completed six months in electronics production. I have observed the changes that have happened to me and my life. Today, I am the breadwinner of my family, and I have paid off all our debts. Now we lead a happy life. This skill development programme in electronics and soldering has transformed my life entirely. I would recommend this programme to anyone who dreams of a better life. My special thanks to Ms. Pratinya and her noble intentions at the very young age to support the unemployed girls like me in the rural villages where decent and dignified jobs for girls is out of their reach.
