Background:

As the eldest child in a family of five, Katravath Swathi grew up amidst significant hardships. Her family’s financial struggles were profound, with her parents barely making ends meet. Witnessing her mother Sangita a labour under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) to support the family underscored their dire circumstances.

Despite of Sangita’s efforts, the family’s situation remained bleak, the income from her father too was not sufficient. Pooja found it challenging to focus on her studies and discontinued her higher education and limited herself to school education and her dreams seemingly out of reach. The only option left for Pooja is to be like her mother Sangeeta and to be a labour.

One day, a mobilization camp arrived in her village, offering information about various training programs conducted by 100 Days Later Foundation through their 100 Days Later Initiative. The foundation representatives promising career after 100 Days of training.

Fuelled by hope, Pooja eagerly attended and inquired about the courses available. The guidance from counsellors of 100 Days Later Initiative helped Pooja to find out her suitability to a skill training offered.

Ultimately, Pooja had enrolled in the Soldering domain, believing it could be her ticket to a better life. Joining the 100 Days Later Initiative marked a pivotal moment in Pooja’s journey. The talk from the promotor Ms. Pratinya has given more hope and courage to battle against the situations she is into. The only effort from Pooja is to be regular to training and focus on the learnings.

The comprehensive training she received encompassed both technical skills in electronics and soldering, as well as vital life skills. This holistic approach profoundly influenced her personal and professional growth. Reflecting on her time at the 100 Days Later program, Pooja remarked, “During the 100-day training program, I honed my self-confidence, self-discipline, decision-making abilities, and time management skills.” The rigorous curriculum not only equipped her with the technical expertise needed for a successful career but also fostered essential soft skills like communication and teamwork. Pooja’s transformation from a fearful individual to a confident, skilled professional is a testament to her unwavering determination and the opportunities provided by the 100 Days Later Foundation and Cyient Foundation.
